DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open tailgate.    
2 Detach the sealing frame (6) from the tailgate in the area of the rear bumper (1).    
3 Remove tail lamps.   AR82.10-P-4905RG
4 Lift vehicle with lifting platform.   AR00.60-P-1000RG
5 Remove expansion rivets (2). IMPORTANT Number of expansion rivets (2) may vary depending on version.

6 Push the fender liners (4) in the rear fender to the side and unscrew the bolts (3).    
7 Push the fender liners (4) in the rear fender to the side and remove the expansion rivet (5). IMPORTANT Number of expansion rivets (5) may vary depending on version.

8 Remove the expansion rivet (10) from the rear bumper (1) on the basic carriers. IMPORTANT Number of expansion rivets (10) may vary depending on version.

9.1 Remove the rear section of the underfloor paneling. Model 190
except code M032 (Black Series version)

9.2 Remove the rear diffuser. Model 190
with code M032 (Black Series version)

10 Remove screws (11). Model 190
with code M030 (GT R version)
 
11 Remove screws (12). Model 190
with code M030 (GT R version)

12 Loosen screws (13). Model 190
except code M032 (Black Series version)
 
13 Release and disconnect electrical connection (9). IMPORTANT With code M032 (black series design), the electrical connection (9) is located on the right side of the vehicle.
IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors on the rear bumper (1) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
 
14 Unclip the catch hooks (A) on the rear bumper (1) on the left and right to the side. IMPORTANT Helper required.

15 Unclip the catch hooks (B) on the rear bumper (1) to the rear and remove the rear bumper (1) from the basic carrier. IMPORTANT Helper required.

16 Remove rear bumper (1). NOTES
Protect rear fenders using suitable means. To prevent paint damage.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Insert the rear bumper (1) into the guides on the vehicle.
If the catch hooks (A, B) are damaged,

Replace rear bumper (1).
 
17 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
18 Check the gap dimensions on the rear bumper   AR60.00-P-0700-01RG
    Gap dimension, tailgate/trunk lid to bumper *BE60.00-P-1022-01EA 
    Gap dimension, sidewall panel to bumper *BE60.00-P-1026-01EA 
    Gap dimension, bottom of rear lamp to bumper *BE60.00-P-1027-01EA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
19 Check the electrical components to ensure that they function properly.
