	Checking
1	Check condition of battery	Battery must be charged for testing.	AR54.10-D-1129A
2	Slide driver seat (1) all the way forward and remove cover below driver seat (1)
3	Unclip covering (2) and visually check fuse (100 A)/current bridge (F59/1), then clip the covering (2) back into place	If the fuse (100 A)/current bridge (F59/1) is defective: ↓
		Remove/install fuse (100 A)/current bridge (F59/1)	AR43.40-D-1004A
4	Install covering under driver seat (1) and slide driver seat (1) back into place
5	Lift/jack up vehicle		AR00.60-D-1000H
6	Measure gap	If the mean value is out of tolerance, the gap width must be adjusted on the corresponding rotor: ↓	AR43.40-D-1500C
		Adjust gap	AR43.40-D-1400C
7	Visually check the connection of the ground lines (3) on the retarder (L1) and frame	If necessary, repair ground lines (3) on retarder (L1) or frame.
8	Cut cable tie on protective cap (4) and detach protective cap (4). Take off cover (6)
9	Visually check connections of electrical lines (5) to the retarder (L1).	If necessary, repair electrical lines (5) on retarder (L1).
10	Mount covering (6) and slide-on protective cap (4) then secure in place using a new cable tie		*BA43.40-N-1005-01C
11	Switch on ignition
12	Check power consumption of retarder (L1)		AR43.40-D-1050-02C
		Current per circuit Digital multimeter Current clamp If necessary, replace retarder (L1): ↓	*BE43.40-N-1002-01C
		Remove/install Telma retarder	AR43.40-D-1000C
13	Lower vehicle
