REMOVING Remove    
1 Remove front seats    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install front seats   AR91.10-P-1000P
2.1 Remove rear seat cushion Without through-loading possibility, code 287a  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install rear seat cushion   AR91.12-P-1020PC
2.2 Fold rear seat cushion forward With through-loading possibility, code 287a  
3.1 Remove rear seat backrest Without through-loading possibility, code 287a  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install rear seat backrest   AR91.12-P-1620PC
3.2 Remove left side upholstery in rear seat backrest With through-loading possibility, code 287a  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install rear seat backrest side padding   AR91.12-P-1710P
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
4 Remove battery

5 Remove water drain duct behind battery    
6.1 Release electronic selector lever module (ESM) Transmission 722.6  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install electronic selector lever module (ESM)   AR27.60-P-0901P
6.2 Remove center console Transmission 716.6  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install center console   AR68.20-P-2000P
7 Remove upper control panel control unit (N72/1) IMPORTANT Part no longer required.  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install overhead control panel control unit up to 23.04.04 AR54.21-P-1262P
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install overhead control panel control unit as of 24.04.04 AR54.21-P-1262PA
8 Remove cover below instrument panel (right)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install cover below instrument panel (right)   AR68.10-P-1520P
9 Remove front floor covering (right)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install front floor covering (right)   AR68.20-P-2070P
10 Detach assembly plate and lay down to side    
11 Remove front floor covering (left)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install front floor covering (left)   AR68.20-P-2050P
12 Remove hot-air outlets of rear footwell at left and right    
13 Remove hot-air ducts in left and right footwell compartment    
14 Open cable ducts on vehicle floor    
15 Remove trunk floor paneling    
16 Unclip side paneling in trunk on left, remove    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove paneling in trunk   AR68.30-P-4600P
17.1 Remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) IMPORTANT Only required if part number of installed control module does not coincide with part number in parts ordering note  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay box   AR54.21-P-1259P
DANGER Risk of death  cased by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
18 Remove right front wheel    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels, redate if necessary   AP40.10-P-4050Z
IMPORTANT Comply with information on tires / disk wheels   AH40.10-P-9411-01A
19 Remove right front inner fender IMPORTANT Remove only rear inner fender  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install inner fender in front fender   AR88.10-P-1300P
INSTALLING Install     
20 Upper control panel control unit (N72/1N72/) Install    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install overhead control panel control unit up to 23.04.04 AR54.21-P-1262P
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install overhead control panel control unit as of 24.04.04
IMPORTANT Upper control panel control module (N72/1) must be equipped with S switch with ATA function display
IMPORTANT If interior protection system (IS) is installed, use AS/IRS switch with ATA function display (N72/1s7)		 AR54.21-P-1262PA
21 Retrofit wiring harness   AN80.50-P-0001-01P 
22 Unpin lines from coupling    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove contacts from Micro Quadlock System coupling   AR00.19-P-0120-04A
    IMPORTANT Install lines in correct position Check whether contact socket arrest correctly in socket housing by pulling carefully corresponding line. Ensure that rubber seal is seated properly.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Wiring harness repair set Fig 2
23 Retrofit alarm signal siren with additional battery (H3/1)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install ATA alarm signal siren   AR80.50-P-9840P 
24 Retrofit ATA inclination sensor (B33)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install inclination sensor (towing sensor)   AR80.50-P-0001P 
25.1 Install rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) IMPORTANT Only required if part number of installed control module does not coincide with part number in parts ordering note ATA control is integrated in rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Remove/install rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay box   AR54.21-P-1259P
26 Install remaining parts onto vehicle    
27 Check functionality of antitheft alarm system with towing sensor    
28 Enter new special equipment IMPORTANT When modifying scope of equipment, enter code or designations of corresponding special equipment on vehicle data card and in FDOK. Code 551.
