Dashboard Removal/Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Windshield wiper motor (See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Center panel (See CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Audio unit (without center display) (See AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Center display (with center display) (See CENTER DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

    1. aa. Driver-side air bag module (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] or DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
    2. ab. Steering wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. ac. Steering shaft (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. ad. Switch panel (See SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. ae. Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. af. Instrument cluster (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. ag. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. ah. Electric parking brake control module (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the fastener.

  4. Remove the bolts.
  5. Remove the cover.
  6. Remove the wiring harness clip.
  7. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness connector and remove wiring harness clips A and B shown in the figure.

  8. Remove the nuts.

  9. Remove the bolts.
  10. Remove the dashboard bracket.
  11. To prevent damage to the windshield, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

  12. Remove bolts.

  13. Remove the caps and the bolts.

  14. Move the dashboard in the direction of the arrow in the order of (1), (2) shown in the figure, then remove the guide pin.

  15. While rotating the dashboard in the direction shown in the figure, pull it out toward the vehicle's rear side.

  16. Take the dashboard off from the front driver-side door or front passenger-side door opening.
