Trunk Lid Removal/Installation

WARNING:
- Always perform the following procedure with at least one other person to prevent the trunk lid from falling. Otherwise, it may fall and cause injury.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Set the trunk side trim aside. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the trunk lid recess. (With trunk lid hinge cover) (See TRUNK LID RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the trunk lid trim. (With trunk lid hinge cover) (See TRUNK LID RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the fasteners. (With trunk lid hinge cover)
- Remove the trunk lid hinge cover while moving it in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to unhook it. (With trunk lid hinge cover)
- Disconnect the connector and remove the wiring harness clips securing the vehicle body.
- Remove the wiring harness clips securing the trunk lid hinge.
- Remove the bolts, then remove the trunk lid.
- Remove the following parts when removing the trunk lid hinge:
- Rear seat cushion (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- High-mount brake light (See HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear package trim (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Balance spring (See BALANCE SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Affix protective tape to the positions shown in the figure and remove the nuts.
- Remove the trunk lid hinge.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Adjust the trunk lid. (See TRUNK LID ADJUSTMENT .)
