Extractor Chamber Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Rear over fender (See REAR OVER FENDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Rear splash shield (See REAR SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Rear under cover (2WD) (See REAR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Rear bumper stay (See REAR BUMPER STAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL .) (See REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION .)
    7. Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Trunk board (with trunk board) (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Bass-box (with Bose®) (See BASS-BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Trunk box (See TRUNK BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Partially peel back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. While pressing the extractor chamber tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, move the extractor chamber in the direction of arrow (2) and detach the extractor chamber from the body.

  5. Remove the extractor chamber.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
