After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

- REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH
- REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH
- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)

- DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

- DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSES

- DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

- REMOVE ECM

- DISCONNECT FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE ASSEMBLY
- DISCONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM HOSE CONNECTOR
- DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE
*a Retainer - - Pull out Pull off - Pull out the retainer to detach the lock claws and pull off the outlet heater water hose.
- Check that there is no foreign matter on the sealing surfaces of the disconnected water lines. Clean them if necessary.
- Cover the disconnected No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly and outlet heater water hose connector with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
- DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE
*a Retainer - - Pull out Pull off - Pull out the retainer to detach the lock claws and pull off the inlet heater water hose.
- Check that there is no foreign matter on the sealing surfaces of the disconnected water lines. Clean them if necessary.
- Cover the disconnected flow shutting valve (water by-pass hose assembly) and inlet heater water hose connector with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
- DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp from the fuel tube connector.
- Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly.

- DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
- DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 - DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS NOTE:HINT: After disconnecting the wire harness, secure it with tape or equivalent to keep it out of the way.
When disconnecting a wire harness of any component connected to the supply power of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) or when removing the integrated capacitor (integration control supply), make sure to wait 5 minutes or more after turning the ignition switch off for self-diagnosis to complete and the voltage of the integrated capacitor (integration control supply) to discharge.
- DISCONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
- SEPARATE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

- REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

- SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH

- Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
- REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
Attachments - - - Set the engine assembly with transaxle on an engine lifter.NOTE:
- Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the engine assembly with transaxle level.
- Do not perform any procedures while the engine assembly is suspended because doing so may cause the engine assembly to drop, resulting in injury. However, the engine assembly needs to be suspended when it is installed to or removed from an engine stand.
- To prevent the engine assembly from unexpectedly moving, securely support the engine assembly until it is secured to an engine stand.
- Set the engine assembly with transaxle on an engine lifter.
Bolt Nut
- REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY GUARD
- INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS
*1 No. 1 Engine Hanger *2 No. 2 Engine Hanger - Install the No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger with the 4 bolts as shown in the illustration.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf)
HINT:
No. 1 Engine Hanger 12281-25030 No. 2 Engine Hanger 12282-25010 Bolt 91552-F1040 - Using an engine sling device and engine lift, secure the engine assembly with transaxle.NOTE:
- Pay attention to the angle of the sling device as the engine assembly or No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger may be damaged or deformed if the angle is incorrect.
- Do not perform any procedures while the engine assembly is suspended because doing so may cause the engine assembly to drop, resulting in injury. However, the engine assembly needs to be suspended when it is installed to or removed from an engine stand.
- Install the No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger with the 4 bolts as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING UNDER COVER
- REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY SETTING BOLT

- REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front engine mounting insulator is necessary.
