Removal [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - ] ).

  5. DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION 
    1. Disable the autoaway/return function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2015 - ] ).
      NOTE:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the autoaway/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation causes the autoaway/return function to be disabled when the power switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully retract and tilt up the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the power switch off.
  6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ] ).

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using moulding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel LH.
  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ORNAMENT

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Protective Tape
    2. Using moulding remover B, detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel ornament.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the switch base hole cover from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    3. Remove the screw <C>.
    4. Detach the 5 clips and claw and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
    5. Disconnect each connector.
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Detach the 2 claws as shown in the illustration and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover subassembly.
    3. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3.
    4. Disconnect each connector and detach each clamp.
  11. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  12. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
    2. Remove the 2 clips.
    3. Detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
    4. Disconnect 2 connectors.
  14. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 screws and combination meter assembly.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and open the connector cover.
    3. Disconnect the connector.
  15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

    2. w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      (Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ] )

  16. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using moulding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel RH.
  18. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
    2. Using moulding remover B, detach the 12 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly.
    3. Disconnect each connector.

  19. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
    2. Disconnect the connector.
  20. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  21. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  22. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 5 screws <C> and glove compartment door assembly.
    2. Disconnect each connector and detach each clamp.

    1. Detach the 10 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
  24. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY

  29. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  30. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  31. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  32. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  33. REMOVE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  34. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (w/ Telematics Transceiver) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  35. REMOVE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  36. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector and detach each wire harness clamp.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the cooler thermistor.

    3. Remove the 8 bolts <A> and 2 bolts <E> and nut <F>.
    4. Detach the 5 clips and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

  37. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Detach the 5 claws and remove the 5 No. 3 instrument panel stays.
