Removal [08/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    (See article. Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2014 - ] )

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (See article. Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2014 - ] ).

  2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD 

    See step  1

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX 

    See step  2

  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD 

    See step  3

  5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH 

    See step  4

  6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD UPPER NO. 3 PLATE 

    See step  5

  7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See article. Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2014 - 08/2015] Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - ] ).

  8. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Operate the tilt and telescopic lever to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides.

    3. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 11 claws.

    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the meter hood sub-assembly.
  9. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws, clip and 4 guides, and remove the instrument side panel LH.

  12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 8 claws and clip.

    2. Disconnect each connector and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    See step  24

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 3 guides, and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE OPENING PLATE 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and remove the No. 1 defroster nozzle opening plate.

  16. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

  17. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  18. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws, clip and 4 guides, and remove the instrument side panel RH.

  20. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips, claw and guide.

    2. Disengage the clamp.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side (See article. See step  21).

  22. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side (See article. See step  22).

  23. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  24. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 screws <C>.

    2. Disengage the 5 claws.
    3. Disengage the clamp.
    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the glove compartment door assembly.
  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  26. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for Metal Finish Panel and Urethane Panel) 
    1. Disengage the 5 clips and remove the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  27. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for Wood Panel and Bamboo Panel) 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  28. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 7 claws and 3 guides, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

  29. REMOVE NO. 2 DEFROSTER NOZZLE OPENING PLATE 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 defroster nozzle opening plate.

  30. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  31. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  32. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.

  33. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  34. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 8 claws and 3 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the center instrument panel register assembly.
  35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Box) 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 14 claws.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  36. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Multi-display) 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws and 6 clips.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel subassembly as shown in the illustration.

  37. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY (w/ Multi-display) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  38. DISCONNECT NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  39. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector.
    2. Disengage the clamp.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts <A> and 2 screws <B>.

    4. Disengage the 12 claws.
    5. Disengage the 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the upper instrument panel assembly.
