Parking Brake Pedal: Removal

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  2. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  12. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  13. REMOVE REAR ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX  (See REMOVAL )
  16. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT  (See REMOVAL )
  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See REMOVAL )
  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  19. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH  (See REMOVAL )
  20. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  21. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  22. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  23. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See REMOVAL )
  24. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  25. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  26. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH  (See REMOVAL )
  27. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front floor footrest LH
  28. REMOVE NO. 3 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD 
    1. Remove the clip and No. 3 dash panel insulator pad.
  29. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR SILENCER PAD LH 
  30. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCT GUIDE LH 
  31. REMOVE NO. 2 REAR AIR DUCT 
  32. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  33. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FLOOR REAR SUB PANEL 
    1. Turn back the floor carpet in order to remove the front upper floor rear sub panel.
    2. Remove the 4 bolts
    3. Disengage the 8 clamps, and remove the front upper floor rear sub panel from the body

  34. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY 

    HINT.

    Refer to the instructions for Removal of the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly (See REMOVAL )

  35. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE 
    1. Remove the lock nut from the No. 1 parking brake assembly.
    2. Loosen the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and parking brake

  36. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE RETURN WITH DAMPER SPRING 
    1. Remove the parking brake return with damper spring

  37. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, and separate the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

    2. Slide the rubber boot as shown in the illustration

    3. Remove the parking brake equalizer from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly

  38. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 3 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and separate the instrument panel junction block assembly

    3. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
    4. Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly from the body.
