DTC (Gauge Control Module)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

    -3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    U12A0 Gauge control module lost communication with Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS)  

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals.

  2. CAN gateway system DTC check

    -1. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0029-00, U0047-00, U0056-00, U0038-00, and/or U3000-49 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the troubleshooting for CAN gateway system DTC(s) .

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. F-CAN circuit communication check

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    Does the gauge control module detect the CAN gateway Bus channels D?

    Bus D is Not Available

    Go to step 4.

    Bus D is Available

    Go to step 5.

  4. Open wire check (F-CAN D lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
    Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 7:
    Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 19
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 15:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN D_H and F-CAN D_L wires are OK. Replace the gauge control module .

    NO 

    Repair an open in F-CAN D_H or F-CAN D_L wire.

  5. F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel(s) normally.

    Is it detected normally?

    Detected normal

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

    U0100: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0100: PCM is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0100: PCM is Not Available for Bus E

    Go to step 10.

    U0101: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0101: PCM is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0101: PCM is Not Available for Bus E

    Go to step 10.

    U0104: Millimeter wave radar is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U0111: Battery condition monitor module is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0111: Battery condition monitor module is Not Available for Bus E

    Go to step 10.

    U0114: Real time AWD control unit is Not Available for Bus D

    Go to step 9.

    U0122: VSA modulator-control unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0122: VSA modulator-control unit is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U0128: VSA modulator-control unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0128: VSA modulator-control unit is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U0131: EPS control unit is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U0151: SRS unit is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U129C: Multipurpose camera unit is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U12A0: Acoustic vehicle alerting control unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

  6. Open wire check (F-CAN A lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. U0100, U0101: Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    SCS short

    -3. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H wire and the F-CAN A_L wire are OK.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table replace the correspond control unit.

    U0101 PCM
    U0111 Battery condition monitor module

    NO 

    Repair an open in F-CAN A_H or F-CAN A_L wire.

  7. Open wire check (F-CAN B lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. U0100, U0101: Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    SCS short

    -3. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H wire and the F-CAN B_L wire are OK.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in F-CAN B_H or F-CAN B_L wire.

  8. Open wire check (F-CAN C lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    YES 

    The F-CAN C_H wire and the F-CAN C_L wire are OK.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in F-CAN C_H or F-CAN C_L wire.

  9. Open wire check (F-CAN D lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    U0114 Real time AWD control unit 24P connector

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    YES 

    The F-CAN D_H wire and the F-CAN D_L wire are OK.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table replace the correspond control unit.

    U0114 Real time AWD control unit

    NO 

    Repair an open in F-CAN D_H or F-CAN D_L wire.

  10. Open wire check (EP-CAN A lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. U0100, U0101: Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    SCS short

    -3. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    The EP-CAN A_H wire and the EP-CAN A_L wire are OK.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table replace the correspond control unit.
