Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Install a NEW gasket.

    NOTE:

    Add 14 mm bead of sealant at right and left T-Joint where front cover meets head and at rear of camshaft cover right and left T-Joint where vacuum pump bolts on.

  1. Install Camshaft Cover Gasket (1)

  2. Install Camshaft Cover (3)
    3. NOTE:

    Ensure the long camshaft cover bolts (2) are installed in the correct positions.

  3. Loosely install Camshaft Cover Bolts (1, 2)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Tighten the camshaft cover bolts in sequence to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  5. Install Fuel Feed Pipe @ Fuel Pump. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (LCV)Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (LTG)Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Chassis Fuel Feed Pipe to High Pressure Fuel Pump)
  6. Install Camshaft Cover Heat Shield. Refer to Camshaft Cover Heat Shield Replacement (LCV) Camshaft Cover Heat Shield Replacement (LTG)

    NOTE:

    Always ensure the PCV hose fitting O-Ring (3) seal is free of cuts or abrasions each time the fitting is attached to the turbocharger.

  7. Inspect the O-ring and replace if necessary (3).
  8. Connect Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting (2)
  9. Install and tighten Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting Bolt (1) to 8 N.m (71 lb in)
  10. Install Camshaft Position Actuator Exhaust Solenoid Valve. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Exhaust Solenoid Valve Replacement
  11. Install Camshaft Position Actuator Intake Solenoid Valve. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Intake Solenoid Valve Replacement
  12. Install the engine oil level indicator.
  13. Install Turbocharger Heat Shield. Refer to Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement 
  14. Tighten Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LCV)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LTG)
  15. Install Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LTG)
  16. Install Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe. Refer to Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Replacement (LTG)
  17. Install Vacuum Pump. Refer to Vacuum Pump Replacement
  18. Install Ignition Coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement
