DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition DDM B12FF:11 Rear Door Switch Illumination: Circuit Short To Ground A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the DDM when the LH RDM detects a short to ground on the rear door switch illumination output circuit. DDM B12FF:15 Rear Door Switch Illumination: Circuit Short To Battery Or Open A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the DDM when the LH RDM detects a short battery voltage or a circuit open on the rear door switch illumination output circuit. PDM B12FF:11 Rear Door Switch Illumination: Circuit Short To Ground A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the PDM when the RH RDM detects a short to ground on the rear door switch illumination output circuit. PDM B12FF:15 Rear Door Switch Illumination: Circuit Short To Battery Or Open A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets in the PDM when the RH RDM detects a short battery voltage or a circuit open on the rear door switch illumination output circuit. PDM U2010:11 Switch Illumination: Circuit Short To Ground A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the PDM detects a short to ground on the passenger front window switch illumination output circuit. PDM U2010:15 Switch Illumination: Circuit Short To Battery Or Open A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the PDM detects a short battery voltage or a circuit open on the passenger front window switch illumination output circuit. - F1 VERIFY THE POWER WINDOW FUNCTIONALITY
- Operate the power window from the suspect switch and the driver window control switch.
Does the power window function correctly from the suspect switch AND the LH front master window control switch?
Yes For the passenger front window control switch, GO to F2 For the RR window control switch, GO to F9 For the LR window control switch, GO to F16 No REFER to: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms - Vehicles With: One-Touch Open and Close Front Windows . - F2 CHECK THE PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the PDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform the PDM self-test.
Is DTC U2010:11 stored?
Yes GO to F6 No GO to F3 - F3 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE AT THE PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Passenger Front Window Control Switch C604 (LHD) or C592 (RHD).
- Disconnect PDM C652A (LHD) or C590A (RHD).
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
LHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 Ground RHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C592-1 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to F4 - F4 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) AND THE PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
LHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 C652A-15 RHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C592-1 C590A-15
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to F5 No REPAIR the circuit. - F5 CHECK THE PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) ILLUMINATION OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT THE PASSENGER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Connect PDM C652A (LHD) or C590A (RHD).
- Ignition ON.
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
- Press the dimmer switch up until the instrument panel illumination reaches full brightness.
- Measure:
LHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 Ground RHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C592-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes INSTALL a new window control switch. No GO to F8 - F6 RECHECK THE PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) WITH THE PASSENGER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH DISCONNECTED
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Passenger Front Window Control Switch C604 (LHD) or C592 (RHD).
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the PDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform the PDM self-test
Is DTC U2010:11 returned?
Yes GO to F7 No INSTALL a new window control switch. - F7 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND AT THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect PDM C652A (LHD) or C590A (RHD).
- Measure:
LHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 Ground RHD
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C592-1 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to F8 No REPAIR the circuit.
After the repair: CLEAR the PDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self-test to enable the illumination output driver. - F8 CHECK FOR CORRECT PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all PDM connectors.
- Repair:
- Corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- Damaged or bent pins - install new terminals / pins
- Pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PDM connectors and all previously disconnected power window system connectors. Make sure all connectors seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system to determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new PDM. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by component connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - F9 CHECK THE PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the PDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform the PDM self-test.
Is DTC B12FF:11 stored?
Yes GO to F13 No GO to F10 - F10 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE AT THE RR (RIGHT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect RH RDM C832.
- Disconnect RR Window Control Switch C801.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C801-1 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to F11 - F11 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) RDM (REAR DOOR MODULE) AND THE RR (RIGHT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to F12 No REPAIR the circuit. - F12 CHECK THE RH (RIGHT-HAND) RDM (REAR DOOR MODULE) ILLUMINATION OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Connect RR Door Module (RDM) C832.
- Ignition ON.
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
- Press the dimmer switch up until the instrument panel illumination reaches full brightness.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C801-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes INSTALL a new window control switch. No GO to F15 - F13 RECHECK THE PDM (PASSENGER DOOR MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) WITH THE RR (RIGHT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH DISCONNECTED
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect RR Window Control Switch C801.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the PDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform the PDM self-test.
Is DTC B12FF:11 returned?
Yes GO to F14 No INSTALL a new window control switch. - F14 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND AT THE RR (RIGHT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect RH RDM C832.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C801-1 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to F15 No REPAIR the circuit.
After the repair: CLEAR the PDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self-test to enable the illumination output driver. - F15 CHECK FOR CORRECT RH (RIGHT-HAND) RDM (REAR DOOR MODULE) PASSENGER REAR DOOR MODULE (PRDM) OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all RH RDM connectors.
- Repair:
- Corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- Damaged or bent pins - install new terminals / pins
- Pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the RH RDM connectors and all previously disconnected power window system connectors. Make sure all connectors seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system to determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new Passenger Rear Door Module (PRDM). No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by component connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - F16 CHECK THE DDM (DRIVER DOOR MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform the DDM self-test.
Is DTC B12FF:11 stored?
Yes GO to F20 No GO to F17 - F17 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE AT THE LR (LEFT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect LH RDM C728.
- Disconnect LR Window Control Switch C701.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C701-1 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to F18 - F18 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE LH (LEFT-HAND) RDM (REAR DOOR MODULE) AND THE LR (LEFT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to F19 No REPAIR the circuit. - F19 CHECK THE LH (LEFT-HAND) RDM (REAR DOOR MODULE) ILLUMINATION OUTPUT VOLTAGE AT THE LR (LEFT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Connect LH RDM C728.
- Ignition ON.
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
- Press the dimmer switch up until the instrument panel illumination reaches full brightness.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C701-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes INSTALL a new window control switch. No GO to F22 - F20 CHECK THE DDM (DRIVER DOOR MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) WITH THE LR (LEFT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH DISCONNECTED
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect LH Rear Window Control Switch C701.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Perform the DDM self-test.
Is DTC B12FF:11 stored?
Yes GO to F21 No INSTALL a new window control switch. - F21 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND AT THE LR (LEFT REAR) WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect LH RDM C728.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C701-1 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to F22 No REPAIR the circuit.
After the repair: CLEAR the DDM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self-test to enable the illumination output driver. - F22 CHECK FOR CORRECT LH (LEFT-HAND) RDM (REAR DOOR MODULE) OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect all LH RDM connectors.
- Repair:
- Corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- Damaged or bent pins - install new terminals / pins
- Pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the LH RDM connectors and all previously disconnected power window system connectors. Make sure all connectors seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system to determine if the concern is still present.
