Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the high voltage system and disconnect the A4 Hybrid/EV Battery Pack high voltage harness connector at the T6 Power Inverter Module. Refer to High Voltage Disabling .
    WARNING:

    Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

    The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:

    • Identify how to disable high voltage.
    • Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
    • Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

    Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

  2. Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LFV)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LTG)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LKN) - Remove
  3. Drive Motor Battery Radiator Surge Tank Replacement - Remove
  4. Drive Motor Generator Control Module Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump to Aux Radiator) (1) - Remove
  5. Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cooling Inlet Hose Replacement (Drive Motor Bat Rad Surge Tank To Pump)Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cooling Inlet Hose Replacement (Trans Pipe to Aux Radiator) (1) - Remove
  6. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill 
  7. Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LFV With MHN)Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LKN With MKE) (1) - Remove
  8. Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV With MHN)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LKN With MKE) (1) - Remove
  9. Place a container beneath the control valve body cover (2) to catch remaining transmission fluid.

  10. Control Valve Body Cover Bolt (3) - Remove [16x]
  11. Control Valve Body Cover - Remove
  12. Control Valve Body Cover Gasket (1) - Remove
    NOTE: The gasket is reusable, inspect the gasket and replace if damaged.
