- On vehicles with "Remote Engine Start" (SA1CR):
- Starting the engine while working on the braking system is strictly forbidden. When starting the engine via "Remote Engine Start", the parking brake is automatically applied.
- Deactivate the function "Remote Engine Start".
- Open the hood before working on the braking system. This prevents the engine from being started.

- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.

If this is not observed, a CC message appears and the brake system switches to the emergency program. The brake booster is no longer active.

- Align special tools 0 495 821 (31 5 255) and 0 495 819 (31 5 253) with the rear axle support .
- Raise the special tool 0 495 817 (31 5 251) with the special tool 2 219 012 and support the rear axle support.
- Secure the rear axle support using special tool 0 495 817 (31 5 251) to special tool 0 496 080 (33 5 206) .
- Loosen screws (1).
- Lower the rear axle support completely using special tool 2 219 012 and remove it.
