51 45 030 Removing and installing instrument panel trim
When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).
For equipment specification with Head-Up Display, make sure that Head-Up Display is retracted.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove TRIM FOR HEAD-UP DISPLAY
- Remove SIDE TRIM PANEL FROM FOOTWELL ON A-PILLAR, LEFT/RIGHT
- Remove SPEAKER IN INSTRUMENT PANEL
- Remove CENTRAL INFORMATION DISPLAY
- Remove HEAD UNIT
The following parts must also be removed as part of preliminary work:
Removal:
Release screws (1).
Disconnect plug connection from front passenger airbag.
(Observe the notes on AIRBAG PLUG CONNECTIONS ).
Remove instrument panel with assistant and feed out all electrical lines.
Installation:
Install instrument panel with assistant and feed in all electrical lines.
Connect plug connection of front passenger airbag.
(Observe notes regarding AIRBAG PLUG CONNECTIONS ).
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 45 4AZ .
Make sure gaskets are correctly seated on air ducts.
Make sure all electrical lines (2) are correctly routed.
Required follow-up work:
The following parts must be installed as follow-up work.
- Install the TRIM FOR THE HEAD-UP DISPLAY
- Install SIDE TRIM PANEL IN FOOTWELL AT A-PILLAR, LEFT/RIGHT
- Install SPEAKER IN INSTRUMENT PANEL
- Install the HEAD UNIT
- Install CENTRAL INFORMATION DISPLAY
