Raising the front subframe

• Carefully raise the front axle support with the universal jack 2 219 012 and position on the body.

• Replace the screws (1)  .

  Parts:  Screws

• Tighten down screws (1)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Front subframe on front/center of body
  M12 Replace screws.	tightening torque	108 Nm

• Replace the screws (2)  .

  Parts:  Screws

• Tighten down screws (2)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Front axle carrier to body, rear
  M14 Replace screws.	tightening torque	175 Nm

• Position the adapter for the front subframe on the front subframe.
• Tighten down screws (1)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Adapter, front axle support to front axle support
  M8x70	tightening torque	19 Nm

• Lower the universal jack 2 219 012 and place to one side.

Install the left-hand and right-hand crash lever 

• Version A: 

  Position the crash lever (3)  on the front subframe.

  Tighten screws (1)  and (2)  .

  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Crash lever on frame/adapter of front subframe
  M14	tightening torque	100 Nm

• Version B: 

  Replace the cage nut (1)  .

  NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
  Tighten the screw connection in the NORMAL POSITION .
• Position the tension strut and crash lever (2)  on the front subframe.
• Replace the screw (1)  .

  Parts:  Screw

• Feed in screw (1)  and tighten hand-tight.

  The screw connection is tightened later in NORMAL POSITION .

• On version B:  Install the front underbody protection (1)  and the lower wheel arch covers (2) only after tightening  the threaded connection of the tension strut at the front subframe.

• Tighten the screw (1)  of the tension strut (2)  on the front subframe in NORMAL POSITION only following the follow-up work  .

Follow-up work 

• Refer to PARTIALLY INSTALLING THE AIR DUCT FOR THE BRAKE ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to IF INSTALLED: INSTALLING THE SILENCER OF THE PARKED-CAR HEATING .
• Refer to ATTACHING THE ANTI-ROLL BAR LINK ON THE ANTI-ROLL BAR AT LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Position the line.

  Clip the line into the bracket (2).

  Connect connectors (1) and lock.
