Install the cover of the steering assembly on the left and right

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Install the cover of the steering assembly

Precondition

The underbody protection of the steering gear is removed.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When the screws are tightened, the cover can twist and cause scuff marks on the anti-roll bar (risk of corrosion).
Brace the cover while the screws are being tightened. Then check the position of the cover.

Position the cover (1).

Tighten down screws (2).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

Cover, steering unit
screw	Tightening torque	3 Nm

Position the cover (1).

Tighten down screws (2).
