33 32 021 Replacing left or right trailing arm

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

IMPORTANT:
  • Check sensor head and line from pulse sensor prior to installation for external damage, replacing if necessary.
IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

Brake hose must not be exposed to tensile loads.

Release screws (1) and remove holder with brake hose.

Tightening torque 34 32 4AZ .

Release screw (1) and remove holder (3) with vibration absorber.

Installation: 

Check installation location.

Secure vibration absorber (3) with 5.5 mm dia. punch (2) in trailing arm bore and tighten.

Tightening torque 33 32 8AZ .

Release anti-roll bar link (1) on upper control arm.

Tightening torque 33 55 2AZ .

Remove lower control arm from trailing arm. See REPLACING BOTTOM LEFT CONTROL ARM  or REPLACING BOTTOM RIGHT CONTROL ARM .

Remove upper control arm from trailing arm. See REPLACING TOP LEFT CONTROL ARM  or REPLACING TOP RIGHT CONTROL ARM .

Remove BEARING SUPPORT FROM BODY  and trailing arm

IMPORTANT: Risk of injury!
Remove output shaft

Installation: 

Replace wheel bearing. See REPLACING LEFT/RIGHT WHEEL BEARING ON REAR AXLE SHAFT .

Convert BEARING SUPPORT .

After installation:
