51 45 030 Removing and installing trim for instrument panel (lower section)
Remove following parts:
- Right glovebox. Refer to 51 16 366 Removing and installing right glovebox with housing .
- Airbag module on passenger side. Refer to 72 12 000 Removing and installing/replacing airbag module on passenger side .
- Complete instrument carrier. Refer to 62 21 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
- Heating controls (climate control). Refer to 64 11 748 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HEATER CONTROL .
- Fresh air grills, left and right. Refer to 64 22 135 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT FRESH AIR GRILL and 64 22 136 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT FRESH AIR GRILL .
- Trim for pedal assembly. Refer to 51 45 185 Removing and installing/replacing trim for pedal assembly .
CAUTION:
A second person is required to help remove and install the instrument panel (lower section).
Release screws (1) and (2) on left.
Release screws (1) and (2) in middle.
Release screws (1) and (2) on right.
Partially detach door rubber on A-pillars.
Pull panel approx. 10 cm in direction of vehicle interior and disconnect plug connection on ENGINE START button.
Remove panel towards bottom with assistance of a second person.
