Oil Pump, Removing And Installing: Removal

Proceed as follows:

-- Removal engine, refer to ENGINE, REMOVAL .

-- Separate the engine and transmission. For vehicles with a manual transmission, refer to ENGINE AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING . For vehicles with an automatic transmission, refer to ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- Secure the engine on the engine and transmission holder, refer to ENGINE, SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .

-- Remove the intake manifold, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .

-- Remove the cylinder head cover, refer to CYLINDER HEAD COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- On vehicle with manual transmission, remove dual mass flywheel, refer to DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- On a vehicle with automatic transmission, remove drive plate, refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the oil pan, refer to OIL PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the timing chain cover lower section, refer to LOWER TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove timing mechanism drive chain, refer to TIMING MECHANISM DRIVE CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove oil pump bolts -arrows-.

-- Insert M10x30 threaded pins -item 1- into oil pump shaft.

-- Attach Puller - Unit Injector T10055 with Puller - Unit Injector - Adapter 3 T10055/3 to threaded pins.

-- Use slight knocking motions to remove oil pump from cylinder block.
