Dual Mass Flywheel, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removal

Proceed as follows:

-- Mark dual mass flywheel position to crankshaft for reinstallation.

CAUTION:

Risk of destroying dual mass flywheel.

  • Remove bolts -B- by hand, not with and air-powered or impact wrench.
  • When Removal bolts, ensure bolt head does not come in contact with dual mass flywheel.
  • Rotate dual mass flywheel -A- so bolts -B- are centered to holes -arrows-.

-- Insert Flywheel Retainer3067 to loosen dual mass flywheel bolts.

-- Loosen and remove the dual mass flywheel bolts in a diagonal sequence.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the bolts which are being tightened with an additional turn.

-- Use Flywheel Retainer3067 to tighten dual mass flywheel bolts.
