Engine, Securing On Engine And Transmission Holder

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Lifting Tackle 3033
• Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095
• Shop Crane VAS6100
• Engine Support 3269
• Lift Arm Extension VAS6101

Procedure 

Proceed as follows:

• The engine/transmission assembly is removed and placed on the Scissor Lift Table VAS6131 separated: Vehicles with manual transmission refer to ENGINE AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING  and vehicles with automatic transmission refer to ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .
• Engine secured with Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7.

NOTE:

Place a cloth under separating point to catch escaping hydraulic fluid.

-- Remove power steering pressure line banjo bolt -1-.

-- Remove engine bracket left and right bolts -arrows-.

Vehicles with 4-Zone Climate Control:

-- Remove rear coolant pipes from coolant hoses -arrows-.

All Vehicles: 

Fig 4: Engaging Lifting Tackle 3033 With Engine Lifting Eyes In Shop Crane VAS 6100 And Hoist VAS 6101

-- Engage Lifting Tackle 3033 in engine lifting eyes and in Shop Crane VAS6100 with Lift Arm Extension VAS6101 as shown in illustration.

-- Tension engine slightly with shop crane, do not raise.

-- Remove Joint Support VAS 6131/13-7 from engine.

-- Raise engine from engine carrier.

-- Secure the engine on the Engine And Transmission Holder VAS6095 as illustrated.

Engine, Engaging at Sides

-- If the Engine Support 3269 is to be used, remove bolts -1 to 3- and remove engine supports with engine bracket.

-- Secure Engine Support 3269 to cylinder block as shown in illustration.
