Headliner, Removing And Installing: Installing

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to PYROTECHNIC, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES .
Note the additional safety precautions when working on the side curtain airbag. Refer to HEAD CURTAIN AIRBAG ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

NOTE:

Remove the locking compound residue from the threaded holes for the A-pillar trim, C-pillar trim, D-pillar trim securing screws and the roof grab handles. Otherwise, new screws could lock up when installed and shear off when removed again.

They can be cleaned with a thread cutter.

Replace self-locking screws.

-- When installing, guide the screen separating wall covers through the openings in the headliner.

-- Align headliner.

-- Install sealing lip of rubber seal on all door cut-outs with Trim Removal Wedge3409 over headliner edge.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install the D-pillar trim. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM OVERVIEW .

-- Install the roof panel trim. Refer to ROOF PANEL TRIM OVERVIEW .

-- Install the C-pillar trim. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM OVERVIEW .

-- Install the B-pillar trim. Refer to B-PILLAR TRIM OVERVIEW .

-- Install the upper right and left A-pillar trim. Refer to UPPER A-PILLAR TRIM OVERVIEW .

-- Install front and rear roof grab handles. Refer to ROOF GRAB HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install sun visors and sun visor center bearing. Refer to SUN VISOR OVERVIEW .

Tightening specifications. Refer to HEADLINER OVERVIEW and Special Tools .
