Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS6136
Engine and Gearbox Bracket:VAS6095A

WARNING:

Observe the safety precautions when working on the passenger occupant detection system. Refer to ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS - PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM DEACTIVATION, MARKET-SPECIFIC .

NOTE:

The Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- and the front seat cushion may only be replaced as one unit.

The Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706- may not be replaced separately.

Removing the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- from a "basic" front seat is used as an example.

Installing the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- on a "basic" front seat. Refer to PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AND Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452-, BASIC, INSTALLING .

Installing the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- on a "Sport" front seat. Refer to PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AND Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452-, SPORT, INSTALLING .

Removing

-- Attach the :VAS6136 on the :VAS6095A .

-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Secure the seat on the :VAS6136 .

-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left trim panel on the seat. Refer to SILL-SIDE SEAT TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest -3- from the front seat. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the cover from the front seat cushion padding (do not remove the front seat cushion). Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- if equipped, disconnect the connector for the front seat cushion heating element.

-- Disconnect the connector -5- for the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -2- on the Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706- -4-. Refer to Disconnecting the Connectors .

-- Remove the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- wiring harness -6- from the seat frame.

-- Remove the seat cushion -1- with the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -2- from the seat frame.

WARNING:

The Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -2- is permanently glued to the seat cushion -1-. Removing and installing it separately is not permitted. Both the pressure sensor and the seat cushion must be replaced together.

If there is a seat heating element, then replace this as well. Removing and installing it separately is not permitted.

CAUTION:

To prevent any removed components from being installed again by mistake, the components should be separated from each other and disposed.

The following work applies to these components.

-- Remove the wiring harness -1- for the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -2- from the channel -arrow A-.

-- Thread the connector -3- through the seat cushion in direction of -arrow B-.

-- Loosen the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -1- from the seat cushion -2- starting from direction of -arrow A- in direction of -arrow B-.

-- Remove the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -1- from the seat cushion -2-.
