PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING AND Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452-, SPORT, INSTALLING

Installing

NOTE:

Route the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- so that it has no bends.

After replacing the passenger occupant detection system, passenger classification system basic setting must be performed with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, in the "Guided Fault Finding".

If the vehicle has heated seats, make sure the heating element is always installed under the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452-. The pressure sensor will not function correctly otherwise.

WARNING:

The basic setting must be performed with the seat empty.

-- Guide the connector -3- for the pressure sensor -2- through the opening in the seat cushion -arrow B-.

-- Secure the wiring harness -1- in the channel -arrow A-.

NOTE:

Make sure that the entire wiring harness -1- is guided through the seat cushion -arrow B-. After the installation there can be no wires inside the channel -arrow A-.

-- Place the Passenger Occupant Detection System Pressure Sensor -G452- -1- on the seat cushion -2-.

-- Position the pressure sensor -1- on the seat cushion -2- so that the positioning aids -arrow- line up with each other.

-- Remove the peel-off backing from the rear adhesive strip -4-.

-- Press the pressure sensor -3- onto the cushion -1- using light pressure. Make sure it has no kinks.

-- Remove the protective film on the rear position sensor -2-.

-- Press the pressure sensor -3- onto the cushion -1- using light pressure. Make sure it has no kinks.

-- Remove the peel-off backing from the side adhesive strip -2-.

-- Press the pressure sensor -3- onto the cushion -1- using light pressure. Make sure it has no kinks.

-- Remove the protective film on the side position sensor -4-.

-- Press the pressure sensor -3- onto the cushion -1- using light pressure. Make sure it has no kinks.

-- Remove the peel-off backing from the side adhesive strip -3-.

-- Press the pressure sensor -3- onto the cushion -1- using light pressure. Make sure it has no kinks.

-- Remove the peel-off backing from the center adhesive strip -4-.

-- Press the pressure sensor -3- onto the cushion -1- using light pressure. Make sure it has no kinks.

-- Install and secure the pressure sensor wiring harness -4- to the seat frame -3-, as illustrated below.

-- Connect the connector -1- on the wiring harness -4- to the Passenger Occupant Detection System Control Module -J706- -2-.

Further Assembly is Performed in Reverse Order.

WARNING:

Ensure no one is in the vehicle when the battery is connected.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
