Clutch Housing Overview

NOTE:
When installing the tapered roller bearing, install new shims which have the same thickness as the previous shims.
- Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
- For the 1st and 2nd gear output shaft.
- Removing and installing, see -item 4- in 1ST AND 2ND GEAR OUTPUT SHAFT OVERVIEW .
- When installing: install an adjusting shim -2- with the same thickness.
- Adjusting Shim
- For the 1st and 2nd gear output shaft.
- Pay attention to the thickness.
- Will get damaged when being removed, always replace.
- Oil Deflector Ring
- Installed position: The shoulder on the hole faces the output shaft.
- Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
- For the 3rd and 4th gear output shaft.
- Removing and installing, see -item 4- in 3RD AND 4TH GEAR OUTPUT SHAFT OVERVIEW .
- When installing: install an adjusting shim -5- with the same thickness.
- Adjusting Shim
- For the 3rd and 4th gear output shaft.
- Pay attention to the thickness.
- Will get damaged when being removed, always replace.
- Locking Ring
- Install in the circumferential groove in the clutch housing.
- Roller Bearing
- For the input shaft.
- Removing and installing, see -item 2- in INPUT SHAFT OVERVIEW .
- Bushing
- Alignment Sleeve
- Quantity: 2
- Clutch Housing
- Input Shaft Seal
- Removing and installing, refer to INPUT SHAFT SEAL .
- Seal can only be removed using the extractor leverVW 681 when transmission is disassembled.
- Seal
- Replacing, with the transmission installed. Refer to RIGHT STUB SHAFT AND SEAL .
- Washer
- For the differential
- Installed position: The shoulder on the inner circumference faces the seal -12-.
- Adjusting Shim
- For the differential.
- Adjusting the differential, refer to DIFFERENTIAL, ADJUSTING .
- Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
- For the differential.
- Removing and installing, see -item 7- in DIFFERENTIAL OVERVIEW .
- When installing: install an adjusting shim -14- with the same thickness.
- Oil Deflector Ring
- Installed position: The shoulder on the hole faces the output shaft.
- Adjusting Shim
- For the reverse gear output shaft.
- Pay attention to the thickness.
- Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
- For the reverse gear output shaft.
- Removing and installing, see -item 4- in REVERSE GEAR OUTPUT SHAFT OVERVIEW .
- When installing: install an adjusting shim -17- with the same thickness.
