3RD And 4TH Gear Output Shaft Overview

NOTE:

The output shaft is not available as a replacement part.

When installing the tapered roller bearing, install new shims which have the same thickness as the previous shims.

  1. Clutch Housing
  2. Adjusting Shim
    • Pay attention to the thickness.
    • Will get damaged when being removed, always replace.
  3. Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  4. Inner Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  5. Output Shaft
    • For 3rd and 4th gear.
  6. Needle Bearing
    • For 4th gear.
  7. 4th Gear
  8. Synchronizer Ring
    • (Inner race for 4th gear)
    • Checking for wear, refer to Figure.
    • Check for scoring.
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
  9. Outer Race for 4th Gear
    • Replace if there are grooves or scoring.
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
    • Install on the synchronizer ring -8-.
  10. 4th Gear Synchronizer Ring
    • Checking for wear, refer to Figure.
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
  11. Locking Sleeve with Synchronizer Hub for 3rd and 4th Gears
    • After removing locking ring -12-, remove with the 4th gear. Refer to Figure.
    • Disassembling and assembling, refer to Figure.
    • Assembling locking collar/synchronizer hub, refer to Figure.
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
    • Installing, refer to Figure.

  13. Needle Bearing
    • For 3rd gear.
  14. 3rd Gear Synchronizer Ring
    • Checking for wear, refer to Figure.
    • Insert it so that the holes engage into engagement pieces of locking collar -11-.
  15. 3rd Gear Outer Race
    • Replace if there are grooves or scoring.
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
    • Insert into synchronizer ring -14-.
  16. Synchronizer Ring
    • (3rd gear inner race)
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
    • Checking for wear, refer to Figure.
    • Check for scoring.
  17. 3rd Gear
    • Installed position, refer to Figure.
  18. 5th Gear
    • Removing with the 3rd gear, refer to Figure.
    • Installing, refer to Figure.
  19. 6th Gear
  20. Locking Ring
  21. Inner Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  22. Outer Race/Tapered Roller Bearing
  23. Adjusting Shim
    • Pay attention to the thickness.
    • Will get damaged when being removed, always replace.
