Rear Axle Component Identification & Servicing: Notes
CAUTION:
DO NOT attempt to straighten or weld rear axle beam or stub axles.
The following list pertains to Fig 1 .
- - 110 N.m (81 ft lb)
- - 70 N.m (52 ft lb)
- When tightening, axle beam must be in horizontal position (vehicle not loaded)
- - 25 N.m (18 ft lb)
- - Dished washer
- - 15 N.m (11 ft lb)
- - Cover (large)
- - Rubber upper mounting ring
- - Cover (small)
- - Suspension strut

- - Wheel bearings

- Use only self-locking nut with captive washer
- When tightening, axle beam must be in horizontal position (vehicle unloaded)
- - Bolt
- Install from center of vehicle
- - 70 N.m (52 ft lb)
- If threads in cap nut are damaged, drill out and re-tap. See REAR AXLE BEAM MOUNT, REPAIRING
- - Axle beam bushing
