Removal [07/2020 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022] 

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  4. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the inverter with converter assembly.

    1. Move the lock lever as shown in the illustration and disconnect the inverter with converter assembly connector.
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the terminals, connector housing or inverter with converter assembly during disconnection.
      • Cover the hole where the cable was connected with tape (non-residue type) or equivalent to prevent entry of foreign matter.
      • Insulate the disconnected terminals with insulating tape.
      • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.

  5. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  6. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  7. TEMPORARILY INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  8. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  9. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER STOPPER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  11. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31

  12. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR MAT SUPPORT SIDE PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  14. REMOVE NO. 3 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 

    See step  4

  15. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. REMOVE NO. 2 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 battery service cover board.

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 BATTERY SERVICE COVER BOARD 

    See step  7

  18. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LEG SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  8

  19. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  20. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK HINGE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  21. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [07/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [12/2021 - 10/2022]

  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  23. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  24. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41

  25. REMOVE NO. 1 HV BATTERY COVER PANEL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  26. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the 2 HV battery junction block assembly connectors.
      NOTE:

      Insulate each disconnected high-voltage connector with insulating tape. Wrap the connector from the wire harness side to the end of the connector.

      *a Shield Ground
    2. Disconnect the shield ground from the HV battery.
    3. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the No. 3 relay block cover.

    4. Disengage the clamp.

    5. Remove the nut.
    6. Disengage the clamp.

  27. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  28. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  29. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]

  30. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the clip, 2 nuts and front No. 2 floor heat insulator.

  31. REMOVE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the clip, nut, bolt and front lower No. 1 floor heat insulator.

  32. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022]

  33. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  34. REMOVE FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    NOTE:

    Insulate the disconnected connectors with insulating tape.

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and HV floor under wire from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the terminals, interlock connector or rear traction motor with transaxle assembly during disconnection.
      • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      • Although the connector may feel loose, this is not due to a malfunction.

    2. Disengage the clamp.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts.

    4. Disengage the clamp.
    5. Remove the 2 nuts.

    6. Disengage the grommet and pull out the HV floor under wire from the floor panel hole.

    7. Remove the 3 nuts, 4 bolts and 4 clamps.
      NOTE:

      If the clamp is removed forcibly, the stud bolt may be damaged.

    8. Disengage the 2 claws.

    9. Disengage the guide to remove the No. 1 terminal cap.
    10. Remove the nut.

    11. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the engine room main wire.
    12. Remove the 2 nuts and HV floor under wire.
