    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

  22. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Cutout *b 30 to 45°
      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Insert SST into the cutout of the assist grip cover as shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09813-00010 
        NOTE:

        To prevent the assist grip sub-assembly from being damaged, make sure to insert SST straight into the cutout.

      2. Pull SST as shown in the illustration to detach the claw.
        NOTE:

        To prevent the assist grip sub-assembly from being damaged, make sure to only pull SST as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        Use the same procedure for the claw on the other side of the assist grip cover.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Detach the clip and remove the assist grip sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
      2. Remove the 4 clips.

      1. for Front Pillar LH Side:

        1. Remove the protective cover installed to the front pillar LH.

        2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

        3. Detach the clamp.

        4. Install the protective cover to the front pillar LH.

      2. for Windshield Glass Side:

        1. Disconnect each connector.

      3. for Rear Pillar RH Side:

        1. Disconnect the connector.

        2. Detach the clamp.

    2. w/ Advanced Drive:

      1. for Front Pillar LH Side:

        1. Remove the protective cover installed to the front pillar LH.

        2. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

        3. Detach the clamp.

        4. Install the protective cover to the front pillar LH.

      2. for Windshield Glass Side:

        1. Disconnect each connector.

        2. Remove the nut.

        3. Remove the bolt and detach the guide.

        4. Detach the clamp.

      3. for Rear Pillar RH Side:

        1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

        2. Detach the clamp.

    3. for Normal Roof:

      Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Remove the visor holder base as shown in the illustration.
      2. Detach the clip and remove the roof headlining assembly.
      3. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front door RH as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Check that the corners of the roof headlining assembly are free of bending, twisting and other deformation and that none of the mounted parts are falling off.
        • Do not damage the roof headlining assembly and body interior.
        • The headlining assembly must be carried out of the vehicle by multiple people to prevent deformation of the roof headlining assembly.
    4. for Panoramic Moon Roof:

      Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Remove the visor holder base as shown in the illustration.
      2. Detach the clip and fastener.
      3. Detach the guide and remove the roof headlining assembly.
      4. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front door RH as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Check that the corners of the roof headlining assembly are free of bending, twisting and other deformation and that none of the mounted parts are falling off.
        • Do not damage the roof headlining assembly and body interior.
        • The headlining assembly must be carried out of the vehicle by multiple people to prevent deformation of the roof headlining assembly.
  37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE OUTSIDE LH

    		 HINT: 
    Perform this procedure only when replacing the front door scuff plate outside LH.

      Remove in this Direction Protective Tape
      1. Apply protective tape around the front door scuff plate outside LH.
      2. Insert moulding remover D at the position shown in the illustration and lift in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the claw and front door scuff plate outside LH.

    		 HINT: 
    Perform this procedure only when replacing the front door scuff plate RH.
    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

      Remove in this Direction Protective Tape
      1. Apply protective tape around the rear door scuff plate outside LH.
      2. Insert moulding remover D at the position shown in the illustration and lift in the direction indicated by the arrow to detach the claw and rear door scuff plate outside LH.
