Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.

  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Cool Box) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION 
    1. Disable the autoaway/return function by changing the customize parameter (Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [08/2015 - ] ).
      WARNING:

      Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the autoaway/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      HINT: 

      Performing the above operation causes the autoaway/return function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off.
  4. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - ] ).

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  9. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUBASSEMBLY (w/o Cool Box) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  10. REMOVE COOLING BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Cool Box) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

    1. Put protective tape around the instrument side panel LH.

    2. Using a moulding remover A, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument side panel LH.

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

    2. Using a moulding remover A, detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

    2. Using a moulding remover A, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
  14. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUBASSEMBLY

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel subassembly.

    2. Detach the 9 claws.
    3. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel subassembly.
  15. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 screws.
    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.
  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUBASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws <A>.

    2. Detach the 3 claws.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover subassembly.
  18. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

    1. Remove the cap nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board LH.

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the hole cover.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Put protective tape around the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts <B>.

      Detach the 16 claws.

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor.

      Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the 2 control cables.

    7. Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 switch hole base.

    2. Detach the 4 claws.
    3. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.

    2. Using a moulding remover A, detach the 6 claws and remove the instrument side panel RH.

    1. Detach the 4 claws and 3 guides.
    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover subassembly.

    1. Remove the cap nut.

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

    2. Using a moulding remover A, detach the 6 claws and remove the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
  29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR KNOB 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both instrument panel box door knobs.

      Using a moulding remover B, detach the 2 claws and remove the instrument panel box door knob.

  30. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

    1. Put protective tape around the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel.
    2. Remove the 4 screws <C>.

      Detach the 3 claws.

    4. Disconnect the connector and remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel.

      Using moulding remover B, raise the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.

      Pull the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly by hand to detach the 7 claws and guide and remove the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.

    1. Put protective tape around the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly.

      Using moulding remover B, raise the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly.

      Pull the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly by hand to detach the 7 claws and guide and remove the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly.

  34. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  35. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 ).

  44. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUBASSEMBLY

        Detach the 6 claws.

      2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel subassembly.

        Detach the 6 claws.

      2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel subassembly.
  45. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT

    1. Fold back the front floor carpet.
    2. Detach the clip and remove the rear No. 4 air duct.

    1. Disconnect the connector and detach the clamps.
    2. Disconnect the connectors and detach the clamps.
    3. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness.

      Pull and slide the lock slider in the direction indicated by the arrow to release the connector lock and disconnect the passenger airbag connector.

      NOTE:

      When handling the passenger airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Disconnect the connectors.
    6. Remove the 2 passenger airbag installation bolts <D>.
    7. Remove the 6 bolts <E>.
    8. Remove the 2 nuts <F>.
