Removal [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to: PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2017] .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to: INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] .

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 12

  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 14

  5. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 16

  6. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 26

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 15

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 17

  10. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 8

  11. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 9

  12. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 10

  13. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX POCKET 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 11

  14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 12

  15. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 13

  16. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 14

  17. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    WARNING:

    Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.

    1. Pull the lever down and detach the connector holder.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the airbag sensor.
