Disassembly [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019] ).

  3. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR ROD (w/ Power Back Door) 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the 2 stop rings and power back door rod.

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR CENTER GARNISH 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and the claw and remove the back door center garnish.

  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the back door side garnish RH.

  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips and remove the back door side garnish LH

  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY LOWER BRACKET (w/ Power Back Door) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the back door stay lower bracket.

  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR STRAP COVER 
    1. Slide the back door strap cover and disengage the claw and remove the back door strap cover.

  9. REMOVE BACK DOOR PULL STRAP 
    1. Remove the bolt and remove the back door pull strap.

  10. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 11 clips and remove the back door trim board assembly.

  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Raise the 9 claws of the rear back door glass weatherstrip and then remove the back door glass weatherstrip from the back door trim board assembly, as shown in the illustration.

  12. REMOVE BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    1. Remove the back door service hole cover.
      NOTE:

      Remove any tape remaining on the door.

  13. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR WARNING BUZZER 

    See step  8

  14. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors and disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and remove the multiplex network door ECU.
  15. REMOVE BACK DOOR NO. 2 SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and disengage the 2 clips and remove the back door No. 2 service hole cover.

  16. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR RH 

    See step  9

  17. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR LH 

    See step  9

  18. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  19. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  20. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  21. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  22. REMOVE REAR WIPER STOPPER 
    1. Disengage the claw and guide and remove the linear wiper step RH

  23. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  24. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  25. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS OUTER WEATHERSTRIP ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  26. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS RUN 
    1. Remove the back door glass run.

  27. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS 
    1. Remove the hole plig.

    2. Provisionally install the multiplex network body ECU.
    3. Move the back door glass until the 4 bolts can be seen through the service holes.

    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    5. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the back door glass.
      NOTE:

      Do not drop or damage the back door glass.

    6. Remove the multiplex network body ECU.
  28. REMOVE BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen nut A.
    3. Remove the 5 nuts, then remove the back door power window regulator assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not drop or damage the back door power window regulator assembly when removing the nuts.

  29. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK CYLINDER 
    1. Disconnect the connector

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and remove the back door lock cylinder.
  30. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  31. REMOVE REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  32. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  33. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE 

    See step  9

  34. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK PROTECTOR 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and back door lock protector sub-assembly.

  35. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK (w/o Power Back Door) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  36. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK (w/ Power Back Door)
