Removal [11/2015 - 06/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  3. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  5. REMOVE REAR CENTER SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
  6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (for Bench Type Seatback) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Bench Type Seatback) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Separate Type Seatback) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH (for Separate Type Seatback) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Separate Type Seatback) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws and guide and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

  13. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 
    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the clip and remove the cowl side trim board LH.
  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the garnish from the base of the 2 clips.

      *1 Front Pillar Garnish Clip

      HINT: 

      Let the front pillar garnish LH hang from the front pillar garnish clip.

    2. Using needle-nose pliers with the tips wrapped with protective tape, rotate the front pillar garnish clip 90° in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) shown in the illustration.

    3. Pull the front pillar garnish LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to disengage it from the front pillar garnish clip.
      NOTE:
      • If the front pillar garnish clip is not removed from the vehicle body and is not damaged, the front pillar garnish clip can be reused.
      • If the front pillar garnish clip is removed from the vehicle body, make sure to replace it with a new one.
    4. Pull the front pillar garnish LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (3) shown in the illustration to disengage the 2 guides to remove the front pillar garnish LH.
    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      *1 Adhesive Tape
      *2 Protective Cover
      *3 Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly
      1. Cover the airbag with a piece of cloth or nylon and secure the edges of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  17. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  18. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  19. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and remove the center pillar lower garnish LH.

  20. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and disengage the clip.

    2. Pass the floor anchor of the front seat outer seat belt assembly LH through the center pillar upper garnish LH and remove the center pillar upper garnish LH.
  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  26. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  27. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  28. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  29. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  30. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  31. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear floor mat assembly.
  32. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 spare wheel cushions.
  33. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Package Tray Trim) 
    1. Remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
  34. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER 
    1. Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides, and remove the rear deck trim cover.
  35. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  36. REMOVE REAR ABSORBER CAP LH (w/ Package Tray Trim) 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 guides, and remove the rear absorber cap LH.

  37. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Package Tray Trim) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  38. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Package Tray Trim) 
    1. Turn the rear seatback hinge in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

      *1 Rear Seatback Hinge - -
    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Using a clip remover, remove the 5 clips.
    4. Disengage the 2 clips and guide, and remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH.
  39. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Package Tray Trim) 
    1. Turn the rear seatback hinge in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

      *1 Rear Seatback Hinge - -
    2. Remove the bolt and 2 screws.
    3. Disengage the 4 claws, 4 clips and guide, and remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH.
  40. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH LH 
    1. Disengage the 5 clips.

    2. Pass the floor anchor of the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly LH through the roof side inner garnish LH and remove the roof side inner garnish LH.
  41. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  42. REMOVE REAR ABSORBER CAP RH (w/ Package Tray Trim) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  43. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  44. DISCONNECT REAR CENTER SEAT LAP TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  45. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH RH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and guide, and disconnect the belt guide.

    2. Disengage the 5 clips.

    3. Pass the floor anchor of the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly RH through the roof side inner garnish RH and remove the roof side inner garnish RH.
  46. REMOVE PRE-COLLISION CITY COVER 2ND (w/ Toyota Safety Sense C) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  47. REMOVE PRE-COLLISION CITY COVER (w/ Toyota Safety Sense C)

  48. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)

  50. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure to remove all assist grips.

    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip.

  51. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING SERVICE HOLE COVER (w/ Sliding Roof) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure to remove all roof headlining service hole covers.

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and remove the cover.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disengage the clip and remove the roof headlining service hole cover.

  52. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof) 
    1. Remove the sliding roof opening trim moulding.
  53. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disconnect the visor shaft from the visor holder.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and the visor assembly LH.
  54. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  55. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER 
    1. Turn the visor holder 45° clockwise and disengage the 2 claws to remove the visor holder.

    1. for front pillar RH side:
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clamps.
    2. for front pillar LH side:
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clamps.
    3. for rear pillar RH side:
      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the connector bracket.
      3. Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clamps.
    4. w/ Toyota Safety Sense C:
      1. Disconnect the connector.
    5. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
    6. Disengage the 2 claws.
    7. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the back door as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the roof headlining assembly or vehicle interior.
