Removal [12/2012 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE ENGINE AND TRANSAXLE
Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - ]
- DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- Disconnect the connectors and clamps securing the engine wire from the engine.
- REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE SPARK PLUG TUBE GASKET
- REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [12/2012 - 08/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [08/2017 - ]
- REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH
- REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [12/2012 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [08/2016 - ]
- REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 17 bolts and 2 nuts.
- Remove the timing chain cover by prying between the timing chain cover and cylinder head, camshaft housing, cylinder block and stiffening crankcase with a screwdriver as shown in the illustration.
*1 Protective Tape NOTE:Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder head, camshaft housing, cylinder block, stiffening crankcase and timing chain cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 oil pump gaskets from the stiffening crankcase.
- Remove the oil hole cover gasket from the stiffening crankcase.
- Remove the 17 bolts and 2 nuts.
- REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL
