Lower Instrument Panel: Installation

  1. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. When using a new lower instrument panel sub-assembly:
      1. Before installing the lower instrument panel sub-assembly, immediately twist and cut off the portions shown in the illustration (joints for moulding).

    2. Engage the 2 claws.
      NOTE: Do not allow the wire harness to get caught in the claws.
    3. Install the screw <B>.
    4. Install the 11 bolts <C>.
    5. Install the 2 bolts <D>.

    6. Engage each clamp.
    7. Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly with the 3 screws <E>.

    8. Engage the 3 claws and install the hood lock control cable assembly.

    9. Engage the 2 claws and install the DLC3.
  2. INSTALL RADIO WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See INSTALLATION )

  8. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover) 
    1. Engage the guide.
    2. Engage the 3 claws and install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  11. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  12. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  13. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 3 claws and 2 guides.

    3. Install the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly with the 2 screws <B>.

  14. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the No. 1 switch hole base.

  15. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Engage the 6 claws.
    2. Install the lower center instrument panel finish panel with the 2 clips.

  16. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Automatic Transaxle) 
    1. Engage the 6 claws.
    2. Install the lower center instrument panel finish panel with the screw <B> and 2 clips.

  17. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and guide to install the front No. 1 console box insert.

  18. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and guide to install the front No. 2 console box insert.

  21. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
  22. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Engage the 6 claws and install the No. 2 switch hole base.
