Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Installation

  1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Engage the claw and install the 5 No. 3 instrument panel stays.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made) 
    1. Engage the 5 claws.
      NOTE: Do not allow the wire harness to get caught in the claws.
    2. Install the 2 bolts <C> or <H> and 2 nuts or <Z>.

    3. Engage each clamp.
    4. Install the bolt <J>.

      Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf) 

    5. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts <K>.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Connect each connector and install the instrument panel safety pad assembly.
    7. with Plasmacluster:
      1. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Engage the 5 claws.
      NOTE: Do not allow the wire harness to get caught in the claws.
    2. Install the 2 bolts <N>, <a> or and 2 nuts.

    3. Engage each clamp.
    4. Install the bolt <Y>.

      Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf) 

    5. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts <V>.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Connect each connector and install the instrument panel safety pad assembly.
    7. with Plasmacluster:
      1. Connect the connector.

  4. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH 
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Engage the 4 guides.
    3. Engage the 8 clips and install the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish.

  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 1 SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 2 guides.
    2. Engage the 6 claws and the 2 clips to install the instrument panel No. 1 speaker panel sub-assembly.

  8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 1 REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 4 clips and install the instrument panel No. 1 register assembly.

  9. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side (See INSTALLATION ).

  11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 2 guides.
    2. Engage the 6 claws and the 2 clips to install the instrument panel No. 2 speaker panel sub-assembly.

  12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 3 REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 4 clips and install the instrument panel No. 3 register assembly.

  13. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for TMC Made) 
    1. Engage the clip.
    2. Install the No. 1 console box insert front with the 3 screws <F>.

  15. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Engage the clip.
    2. Install the No. 1 console box insert front with the 3 screws <O>.

  16. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for TMC Made) 
    1. Engage the clip.
    2. Install the No. 2 console box insert front with the 3 screws <F>.

  17. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT FRONT (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Engage the clip.
    2. Install the No. 2 console box insert front with the 3 screws <O>.

  18. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made) 
    1. Install the 2 screws <F>.

    2. Install the console box assembly with the 2 bolts <G>.

    3. Engage the clamp.
  19. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Install the 2 screws <O>.

    2. Install the console box assembly with the 2 bolts <S> or <T>.

    3. Engage the clamp.
  20. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
    1. Install the console box carpet.

  21. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX POCKET 
    1. Install the console box pocket.
  22. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  23. INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)  (See INSTALLATION )
  24. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 7 clips and install the instrument panel No. 2 register assembly.

  25. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made) 
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Engage the 4 claws.
    3. Install the upper console panel sub-assembly with the 2 screws <F>.

  26. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Engage the 4 claws.
    3. Install the upper console panel sub-assembly with the 2 screws <O>.

  27. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 3 claws and 5 clips to install the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.

  28. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and 5 clips to install the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.

  29. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) 
    1. with Seat Heater System:
      1. Connect each connector.
    2. Engage the 6 claws and the 3 clips to install the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly.

  30. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (for Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Engage the 2 claws and the 5 clips to install the upper console panel as shown in the illustration.

  31. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Engage the 2 clips and install the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  32. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Engage the 2 clips and install the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  33. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) 
    1. Install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  34. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) 
    1. Install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  35. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made) 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 3 claws and 3 clips.
    3. Install the 4 screws <B>.
    4. Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly with the bolt <A>.

  36. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Engage the 3 claws and 3 clips.
    2. Install the screw <O> or and 3 screws <O>.
    3. Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly with the bolt <N>.

  37. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and 2 guides and install the instrument panel No. 2 under cover.

  38. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH  (See INSTALLATION )

  40. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made) 
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Install the combination meter assembly with the 4 screws <E>.

  41. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Install the combination meter assembly with the 4 screws <R>.

  42. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Engage the guide and the 4 claws.
    2. Install the instrument cluster finish panel with the 2 clips.

  43. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Engage the 2 claws and 2 clips to install the lower instrument panel finish panel.

  44. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/ Smart Key System) 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 2 claws and 2 clips to install the lower instrument panel finish panel.

  45. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
    2. Engage the 3 claws and 2 clips to install the No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly.

  46. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  47. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  48. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (for TMC Made) 
    1. Engage the claw and install the upper steering column cover.
    2. Engage the 2 claws and install the lower steering column cover.
    3. Install the steering column cover with the 2 screws <D>.

      Torque: 2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf)

  49. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Engage the claw and install the upper steering column cover.
    2. Engage the 2 claws and install the lower steering column cover.
    3. Install the steering column cover with the 2 screws <Q>.

      Torque: 2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 18 in.*lbf)

  50. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH (for TMC Made) 
    1. Install the air hose and connect the connector.
    2. Engage the claw and the 9 clips.
    3. Instal the instrument panel finish panel LH with the screw and bolt <A>.

  51. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH (for TMMK Made) 
    1. Install the air hose and connect the connector.
    2. Engage the claw and the 9 clips.
    3. Install the instrument panel finish panel LH with the screw <O> or and bolt <N>.
