Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (see CALIBRATION
).
- INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
Result:
RESULTDTC is not output A DTC is output B - B: REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (SEE HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
- A: Go to next step.
- INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if the multiplex communication system DTC is output (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
Result:
RESULTDTC is not output A DTC is output B - B: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (SEE HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
- A: Go to next step.
- INSPECT VSC WARNING LIGHT
- Connect the hand held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select "ACTIVE TEST" on the hand held tester.
ACTIVE TEST: ABS/VSC
ACTIVE TEST - ABS/VSCItem Vehicle Condition/Test Details Diagnostic Note VSC WARN LIGHT Turn VSC warning light ON/OFF Observe combination meter - Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC warning light are indicated on the combination meter when using the hand held tester.
OK:
The VSC warning light turns on or off in accordance with the hand held tester.
- NG: Go to step 4
- OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE REPLACEMENT )
HINT:
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the problem symptoms table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY
- Check the combination meter assy (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE OVERHAUL )
- OK: END
