Side Impact Sensor (Center Pillar)

CAUTION: Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the cushion assembly rear seat and the backrest assembly rear seat. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the cover side sill front Rr and the cover side sill front Ft. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>LOWER INNER TRIM>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the weather strip body side flange front. Ref. to EXTERIOR BODY PANELS>WEATHER STRIP>REPLACEMENT .
  5. Remove the trunk trim panel side. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>TRUNK ROOM TRIM>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the trim panel assembly quarter. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR QUARTER TRIM>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the seat belt retractor.
    1. Disconnect connector of the pretensioner. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>KNEE AIRBAG MODULE, CURTAIN AIRBAG MODULE, DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE, FRONT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER & ADAPTIVE FORCE LIMITER (PASSENGER'S SIDE) .
    2. Remove the bolt to remove the seat belt retractor.

  8. Remove the Side impact sensor (center pillar).
    1. Remove the nut, and remove the side impact sensor (center pillar).
    2. Disconnect the airbag connector. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>EACH IMPACT SENSOR .
