2.5 L Model

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: If the engine coolant is spilt over the engine or the exhaust pipe, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
  1. Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  4. Remove the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE DUCT>REMOVAL .

    Remove the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE> REMOVAL>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE ASSEMBLY .

  5. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose (A) and over flow hose (B).

  6. Disconnect the water hose (A), and remove the water tank pipe assembly No. 1.
    NOTE: For the bolt (B), use a crowfoot wrench for removal.

  7. Remove the filler neck from the water tank pipe assembly No. 1. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>WATER PIPE>REMOVAL>FILLER NECK .
  8. Remove the thermo control valve assembly. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>THERMO CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the clip (A), and disconnect the connector (B) and the connector (C).

  10. Remove the bolts securing the water tank pipe assembly No. 2.
  11. Disconnect the water hose (A), water hose (B) and water hose (C) and remove the water tank pipe assembly No. 2.

  12. Remove the outlet engine coolant temperature sensor from the water tank pipe assembly No. 2. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR>REMOVAL>2.5 L MODEL>OUTLET ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
  13. When water hose (A) and water hose (B) are replaced
    1. Disconnect the water hose (A). Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>PCV CONNECTOR>REMOVAL .
    2. Disconnect the water hose (B).
