Draining Of Engine Coolant

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION:
  • The engine coolant is pressurized when it is hot. Wait until engine coolant cools down before proceeding the work.
  • If the engine coolant splashes, completely remove and clean it.
  1. Remove the radiator cap.

  2. Remove the under cover - front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>REMOVAL .
  3. Connect hose (A) to the drain pipe of the radiator.
    NOTE: Use a hose with an inner diameter of 8.0 mm (0.315 in).
  4. Place a vinyl cover (B) at the neck of the radiator drain plug.
    CAUTION: This is necessary to prevent splash of the engine coolant.
  5. Loosen the radiator drain plug (C) to drain engine coolant.

  6. After draining the engine coolant, remove the radiator drain plug.
  7. Install the radiator drain plug with a new O-ring.
  8. Remove hoses and the vinyl cover.
  9. Install the under cover - front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>INSTALLATION .
  10. Drain the coolant from reservoir tank.
