CVTF Cooler Pipe No. 2

CAUTION:
  • Vehicle components are extremely hot immediately after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  • If ATF spills over the engine, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke and causing a fire.
  1. Remove the battery. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>BATTERY>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
  3. Collect the refrigerant. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
  4. Drain engine coolant. (Inverter side) Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT>INVERTER ASSEMBLY SIDE .
  5. Disconnect connector (A) from ECM.
    CAUTION: In order to prevent damaging the connector (A), check that the lock is released completely when moving the lever.
    NOTE: To disconnect the connector (A), press the portion (a) shown in the figure to release the lock and move the lever in the direction of arrow.

  6. Disconnect the connector (B) from the main fuse box, and remove the engine wiring harness from the clip (C).

  7. Release the claw securing the engine wiring harness, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with work.

  8. Remove the inverter tank. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>INVERTER TANK>REMOVAL .
  9. Drain the ATF. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TH2A)>AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID>REPLACEMENT .
  10. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  11. Remove the CVTF CVT inlet hose and CVTF CVT outlet hose.

  12. Disconnect the hose - pressure suction valve (A) from the hose - pressure suction COMPL, and disconnect the lock assembly - front hood connector (B).
  13. Remove the lower side bolts (C) securing the radiator upper frame.

  14. Remove the bumper face - front. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT BUMPER>REMOVAL>BUMPER FACE .
  15. Remove the bracket - bumper UPR.

  16. Remove the front hood lock assembly. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>FRONT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
  17. Disconnect the connector from the horn, and remove the clip.

  18. Disconnect the hose - pressure suction (A) from the A/C accumulator assembly, and disconnect the hose - pressure suction COMPL (B) from the pipe - return assembly.

  19. Remove the upper side bolts securing the radiator upper frame, and remove the radiator upper frame together with the A/C accumulator assembly.

  20. Remove the CVTF cooler (air cool) inlet hose (A) and the CVTF cooler (air cool) outlet hose (B).

  21. Remove the CVTF cooler pipe No. 2.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to bend the pipe - evaporator cooling.
