Cylinder Head Assembly: Removal

- Remove V-belt. < Ref. to REMOVAL , V-BELT. >
- Remove crankshaft pulley. < Ref. to REMOVAL , CRANKSHAFT PULLEY. >
- Remove timing belt cover. < Ref. to REMOVAL , TIMING BELT COVER. >
- Remove timing belt. < Ref. to REMOVAL , TIMING BELT. >
- Remove camshaft sprocket. < Ref. to REMOVAL , CAMSHAFT SPROCKET. >
- Remove intake manifold. < Ref. to REMOVAL , INTAKE MANIFOLD. >
- Remove bolt which installs A/C compressor bracket on cylinder head.
- Remove valve rocker assembly. < Ref. to REMOVAL , VALVE ROCKER ASSEMBLY. >
- Remove camshaft. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Camshaft. >
- Remove cylinder head bolts in alphabetical sequence shown in figure.NOTE: Leave bolts (a) and (c) engaged by three or four threads to prevent cylinder head from falling.
- While tapping cylinder head with a plastic hammer, separate it from cylinder block.
- Remove bolts (a) and (c) to remove cylinder head.
- Remove cylinder head gasket.CAUTION: Do not scratch the mating surface of cylinder head and cylinder block.
- Similarly, remove right side cylinder head.
