Remove/install oil pan - AR01.45-P-7500OMD

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Lead-acid batteries
No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and goggles. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
1 Disconnect ground line for on-board electrical system battery (G1) IMPORTANT Do not connect quiescent current retention unit.

4 Drain/collect engine oil INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace seal on oil drain screw. Leaks can occur otherwise.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oil drain screw on oil pan *BA01.45-P-1003-01S 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Engine oil *BF18.00-P-1001-01Z 
5 Remove flywheel/drive plate   AR03.30-P-8001CD
6 Attach engine hoist IMPORTANT Raise engine until engine mounts no longer bear weight of the engine.

7 Remove front axle carrier Model 204 AR33.10-P-0001CW

8 Remove front axle gear   AR33.30-P-0525CWX
9 Detach front axle transmission (7) carrier from oil pan IMPORTANT To do this, unscrew bolts (6).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Collar bolt, support brace to engine oil pan *BA33.30-P-1011-03G 
10 Loosen lines for A/T to oil pan IMPORTANT To do this, loosen clamp (4) and unhook lines.  
11 Loosen oil dipstick guide tube (1) IMPORTANT Unscrew screw/bolts (2, 3) to do this.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install new O-ring.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt for oil dipstick guide tube fastening *BA18.40-P-1002-01O 
12 Detach electrical connector (8) on oil level check switch (S43) and loosen cable bracket on transmission    
13 Unscrew screw/bolts (5) on timing case cover TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, timing case to cylinder crankcase, cylinder head and oil pan top section *BA01.40-P-1001-01X 
14 Remove screw/bolts (9) on oil pan INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe different bolt lengths and bolt diameters. AR01.45-P-7500-06CD
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan top section to cylinder crankcase *BA01.45-P-1001-01S 
15 Remove oil pan IMPORTANT Screw screw/bolts M6x60 into threaded holes (10) and pry off oil pan top section carefully and evenly.  
16 Remove fitting sleeves in crankcase INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The fitting sleeves are no longer needed for installation.  
17 Remove sealant IMPORTANT Clean sealing surfaces. Warm sealing surfaces on oil pan and the timing case cover in order to achieve better removal of the sealant. AR01.00-P-0050-01A

IMPORTANT Notes on sealant path for oil pan   AH01.45-P-0001-01CD
    NOTES The sealant bead should be applied to the flange face "oil pan on timing case cover" on the timing case cover. Leaks can occur otherwise.

    Loctite 7063 cleaning spray (150 ml) *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
18 Install in the reverse order    
19 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT Stored faults which may be caused by assembly work, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in fault memories after completing the work.  
  Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
INSPECT Checking     
20 Check engine oil level NOTES The engine oil level must lie between "Min" and "Max". Engine damage can occur otherwise.  
21 Check for leaks with engine running
