Remove/install oil pan - AR01.45-P-7500EWX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove front axle transmission Vehicles with code M005 (4MATIC)  
    Transmission 722.96 AR33.30-P-0525CWX
2 Remove oil pan bottom section   AR01.45-P-7555CWX 
3 Remove screw/bolts (1a) and oil suction pipe (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oil suction pipe at crankcase *BA18.10-P-1005-01B 
4 Detach support (2) by removing screw/bolts (2a) and retaining clamps (2b) Vehicles with code M005 (4MATIC)  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Collar bolt, support to oil pan *BA33.30-P-1011-03G 
5 Detach oil dipstick guide tube from oil pan (5)   AR18.40-P-3510EWX
    IMPORTANT The oil dipstick guide tube remains in the vehicle.  
6 Disconnect electrical connection on switch (S43)    
7 Detach retaining clamps (3a) and push automatic oil lines (3) to the side TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil line bracket to oil pan *BA01.45-P-1007-01M 
8 Loosen high-pressure line of power steering at the alternator TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, alternator to timing case *BA15.40-P-1001-01F 
9 Remove grommet (4) IMPORTANT Vehicles with code M005 (4MATIC) Two screw/bolts for fastening the oil pan (5) are located below.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw plug to oil pan top section *BA01.45-P-1009-01M 
10 Remove screw/bolts from oil pan (5) Engine 272 AR01.45-P-7500-06VA
    Engine 273 AR01.45-P-7500-06SX
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe different bolt lengths and bolt diameters as per bolt plan:  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan to cylinder crankcase, timing case cover or rear cover *BA01.45-P-1002-01M 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oil pan top section to cylinder crankcase at transmission end *BA01.45-P-1005-01M 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, automatic transmission to engine *BA27.40-P-1008-01A 
11 Remove oil pan (5) from crankcase    
12 Clean sealing surfaces on the oil pan (5) and crankcase   AR01.00-P-0050-01A
    NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surfaces can get damaged otherwise.		  
    Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
    Loctite 7063 cleaning spray (150 ml) *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
13 Apply sealant to sealing surface of oil pan (5):    
IMPORTANT Notes on sealant path for oil pan   AH01.45-P-0001-01SX
IMPORTANT Notes on sealant path for oil pan   AH01.45-P-0001-01VA
    Loctite 5970 sealant *BR00.45-Z-1013-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Application gun Figure
14 Install in the reverse order    
15 Check engine oil level approx. 5 min. after switching off the engine at operating temperature, correct if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Engine oil and filter change ENGINE 272.977 AP18.00-P-0101VA
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Engine 273 AP18.00-P-0101SX
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   ENGINE 272.923/952/980/983
NOTES Vehicle must be horizontal and standing on its wheels.
Measurement errors can occur otherwise.		 AP18.00-P-0101PIT
16 Check for oil leaks with engine running
