Remove/install rear wall window - AR67.20-P-2000EG

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

DANGER Risk of injury  from pinching or crushing hands and feet when working on windows. Secure windows against dropping; use only specified lifting tools; wear safety shoes.   AS67.00-Z-0003-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by slipping when inserting blade in the multicutter and by glass splinters when cutting out bonded windows Always interrupt air supply when inserting or removing blade.
Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

1 Prepare glue cartridge   AR67.10-P-1000-12SX

2 Open side window in driver door NOTES If all windows are closed, the rear window (1) can be pressed outward by the air pressure during the curing period when closing the doors.  
3 Open trunk lid    
4 Remove detachable parts when replacing rear window (1).   AR67.20-P-2100EW 
5 Cover over rear shelf    
6 Mask off left and right C-pillar and rear edge of roof in connection area with adhesive tape NOTES Attach adhesive tape to prevent paint damage.  
7 Cut out rear window (1) with cutting blade. Window glazing device, FSC 1.6

Cutting length 60 mm

8 Position suction lifting device in upper third of rear window (1). Vacuum lifting device for special protection vehicles
 
 
9 Raise rear window (1) of body flange NOTES Helper required for guiding rear window (1), otherwise, adjacent body parts can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Detach rear window (1) first in upper area from body flange, then remove upward (arrow).
IMPORTANT When performing accident repair, check whether it is necessary to install a new rear window (1).
Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
 
 
10 Prepare body flange for installation of window NOTES The adhesive areas on the body flange must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent a decrease in the gluing force when installing the window. AR67.10-P-1501-01P 
NOTES General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area Pay attention to notes concerning the preparation of new parts such as the A-pillar, the roof or the side walls.

11 Remove adhesive tape on C-pillar and rear edge of roof    
INSTALLING Install     
12 Align rear window (1) in body opening with suction lifting device NOTES Aid of a helper is required for guiding the rear window (1), otherwise adjacent body parts and the rear window (1) can be damaged. AR67.20-P-2000-04P 
Distance between top edge and rear edge of roof *BE67.20-P-1001-01L

13 Replace rubber seal on rear window (1) at top IMPORTANT Glue rubber seal to top edge of window at a distance of 6 mm. Position left and right side rubber seal flush on rear window (1).  
14 Prepare rear wall window (1) for installation NOTES The adhesive areas on the rear-end window (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent a decrease in the gluing force when installing the window.

15 Apply adhesive material NOTES Install rear-end window (1) on body flange within 10 minutes after applying glue, otherwise adhesive force of glue starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Uniformly apply glue in shape of bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.

16 Insert rear window (1) with vacuum lifting device and aid of helper, align and glue in NOTES Position vacuum lifting unit in upper third of rear-end window (1), so that the lifted rear-end window (1) is parallel to the C-pillars, otherwise the edges of the rear-end window (1) can hit the body flange when inserting and break off or the glue beads can run.
NOTES Ensure that at least one vehicle door remains open while the adhesive material cures. When a vehicle door is closed, the vibration to the body can change the installation position of the rear-end window (1). The curing time of the adhesive material is approx. 2 h, measured from the time the adhesive material is applied.

17 Remove cover from rear shelf    
18 Remove detachable parts when installing rear window (1).   AR67.20-P-2100EW 
19 Open trunk lid    
20 Remove protective foil on inside of rear window (1)
