Retrofit illuminated door sill molding - AZ82.20-P-0001EA

REMOVING Remove     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by contact with parts conducting high voltages. Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) must not  perform any work on such components. AS00.00-Z-0020-01A
NOTES Notes on avoiding damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Move back driver seat and front passenger seat    
2 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003EW
3 Loosen front edge guard (15) in the area of A-pillar cover (13) and in the area of door sill    
4 Remove front door sills IMPORTANT Front door sills are no longer required. AR68.30-P-4100EW
5 Remove cover below right dashboard   AR68.10-P-1520CW
6 Remove cover below left of instrument panel    
7 Remove left and right A-pillar cover (13)    
8 Lay front floor covering (14) in footwell to the back IMPORTANT On the passenger-side lay back the front floor covering (14) until the footrest can be removed. On the driver-side the front floor covering (14) must only be placed to one side in the area of the door sill.  
9 Detach footrest in passenger footwell and turn around.    
10 Loosen electronic transmission control unit Only models fitted with transmission 722.6.
IMPORTANT Do not disconnect connector from electronic transmission control unit.		 AR27.19-P-1719EW
11 Loosen front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and place to one side   AR54.21-P-1260CW
INSTALLING Install     
12 Retrofit wiring harness for illuminated door sill molding (2) and wiring harness for supply (3)   AZ82.20-P-0001-04EA
SPECIAL TOOL Crimp pliers Fig 3
13 Retrofit illuminated door sill molding control unit (1)   AZ82.20-P-0001-05EA 
Terson double-sided adhesive tape *BR00.45-Z-1075-02A 
14 Install remaining parts IMPORTANT Operation steps 11 to 5 and 3 to 1.  
15 Install illuminated door sill moldings (5)   AZ82.20-P-0001-01EA 
16 Carry out function check for illuminated door sill molding (5) IMPORTANT The illuminated door sill molding (5) is activated by opening the front door. The illuminated door sill molding (5) switches off after approx. 5 minutes when the door is open.
