Attach felt (24) on the top side of illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) as per picture.
Determine the installation position of illuminated door sill molding control unit (1). To do this, position electronic transmission control control unit in the installation position on footrest (22) and push down illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) so that the housings do not yet touch. Mark determined installation depth (broken line).
On vehicles with Transmission 722.6.

The illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) and electronic transmission control control unit must not collide, otherwise housing fracture may occur during assembly.

Attach double-sided adhesive tape all over the back of the illuminated door sill molding control unit (1).
- 4.1) Glue illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) onto footrest (22).
  On vehicles without code (489) Airmatic (air suspension with continuously adjustable damping.
  
  On vehicles with transmission 722.6 observe the marking applied beforehand.
- 4.2) Glue illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) onto the AIRmatic control unit.
  On vehicles with code (489) AIRMATIC (air suspension with continuous adjustment damping)
  
  The AIRMATIC control unit is fitted at the point in which the illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) is fitted on vehicles without code (489) AIRMATIC (air suspension with continuously adjustable damping.
The illuminated door sill molding control unit (1) should additionally be fixed in place on the footrest with cable ties (23) as per picture.
