Remove/install radial shaft sealing ring at output flange - AR27.40-P-0205EWM

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Position transmission (1) to position "N"    
2 Release parking brake    
3.1 Remove bottom section of soundproofing TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 642

3.2 Remove rear lower engine compartment paneling TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 278

4 Attach assembly tool to decoupling elements of exhaust system TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 642
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 651
NOTES Decoupling elements should not be subjected to excessive tension or bending.
Otherwise damage will occur.

5.1 Release clamp (2) and place to one side TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 642
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 651
 
5.2 Release corresponding clamp of exhaust system and place to one side TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 with ENGINE 278  
6 Support transmission (1) and secure it against falling down    
7 Remove rear engine cross member (3) with the rear engine mount   AR22.10-P-1180CW
NOTES Under no circumstances should impact wrenches/drivers or pneumatic tools be used to remove or screw in screws/bolts. Otherwise, the threads will be damaged.
8 Mark propeller shaft (4) in color    
9 Remove front flex disk (5)   AR41.10-P-0050EW
NOTES Do not crush any components or place under tension. The engine must not make contact with the front axle carrier or the major assemblies compartment partition.
Otherwise damage will occur.
10 Lower transmission (1) carefully    
11 Remove output flange (6) TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212

12 Pry out radial shaft sealing ring (7) from transmission (1) NOTES Carefully remove radial shaft sealing ring (7) and do not damage seat in transmission (1). Otherwise, leakage may occur.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Press new radial shaft sealing ring (7) in so far with the SPECIAL TOOL drift (8) that the SPECIAL TOOL drift (8) lies against the transmission (1).

13 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
14 Check oil level in transmission (1) and correct TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15 Test run engine and check transmission (1) for leaktightness and proper operation
